Why I need to Travel

“I’d like to get away from earth awhile
And then come back to it and begin over…”

Lately I have been surprising myself smiling at the mirror, like when I used to be in love. But this time the love is directed to myself. Never happened to me such a thing. Might seem arrogant, but it is nothing like that. I´m far from being in love with myself. I know me too well. I am a person full of flaws, but these days, when I smile is because I finally feel free and happy, because happiness can only be found inside us and I believe that I have found it, or, let´s not cross the line, that at least I´m in the right path to find it.

We spend our lives making decisions based on what others wish for us, but very few times we stop to think what we really want and need; we never listen to our deepest desires. Well now I decided to spoil myself and be free.

Free from the cage I live in, where my wings have become useless; free from people who hurt me; free from negative thoughts that continuously shout at me that I cannot do this or that, because I am not good enough or just because nobody else is doing it.

Robert Frost said once:

“I’d like to get away from earth awhile
And then come back to it and begin over.
May no fate willfully misunderstand me
And half grant what I wish and snatch me away
Not to return. Earth’s the right place for love:
I don’t know where it’s likely to go better.
I’d like to go by climbing a birch tree,
And climb black branches up a snow-white trunk
Toward heaven, till the tree could bear no more,
But dipped its top and set me down again.
That would be good both going and coming back”.
Robert Frost

Free will is one of the biggest blessings in anyone´s life, and this is why this year I am making myself this wonderful present: I´m getting away for a while, and then, hopefully, come back to it and begin over. What a wonderful present is to be able to climb that birch tree towards heaven, till it reaches its limit and send me down again, to earth. One could do worse than be a swinger of birches.

Travelling to other worlds. That must be heaven.

Travel. Money can be recovered; unfortunately, not the time.
